Lead Pastor

Andrew Ebanks is the Lead Pastor of the Agape Family Worship Centre. He has been Pastoring the Agape family since 2012 after the death of his father Al Ebanks, who was the previous Lead Pastor. He and his wife Emily met in University and got married after they both graduated and have been together in ministry ever since. Together, they have a daughter and a son. Andrew and Emily have a passion to see the unchurched reached and people's lives transformed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Cayman Islands, the Caribbean and around the world.

Andrew has spent much of his life looking for ways that he can reach as many people with Gospel as he can. He has an Associates Degree in Computer Science, a Bachelors in Church Ministries with minors in Youth and Pastoral ministries, and a Doctor of Theology. As he reaches the unchurched, his main goal is to see people living up to their God-given potential by helping them to discover their unique purpose.

Emily has a deep love for missions work. In University she majored in English and Intercultural Studies which would enable her to reach various people groups with whom there is a language barrier. She has traveled to several countries around the world sharing the love of Jesus. Her passion is to empower women and girls to discover who they are in Christ and overcome the barriers and limitations that they feel often limit them.

Her passion for praise and worship have been reflected over the many years that she has led the Praise and Worship team. Worship is a vital part of being a follower of Jesus and Kathy continues to cultivate and inspire an environment where Jesus is the focus of all that we do.

Kathy has led and participated in almost every aspect of the ministry since she first began her journey of faith. She has earned a Doctor of Theology and has many years of experience and wisdom. She continues to passionately pursue the things of God and encourages and supports others in doing the same.

A TASTE OF OUR HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

Our humble beginnings
We were known as the Church on Hospital Road
The Agape Family Worship Centre has had a rich and exciting history of ministry here in Grand Cayman. Over the past 60 years we have been fortunate enough to experience God's abundant grace and mercy in our lives. Our fellowship had its beginnings in 1954 as a small home bible study. Since then our members built, with their own hands and skills, our current home on Fairbanks Road in 1998. We are a non-denominational, inter-denominational, multicultral, charismatic community that follows the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a community made up of people from every socio-economic level of society, and the community today is truly reflective of the various ethnic groups that make up our society in the Cayman Islands. Our membership is comprised of people from many nations, including but not limited to: the Cayman Islands, UK, USA, Jamaica, Honduras, Philippines, Peru, Mexico, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Colombia and many more. We are equally diverse in our denominational backgrounds - Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, Church of God, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Seventh Day Adventist - to name but a few. This diversity has created a unique dynamic where people from all walks of life are welcome here.

OUR NAME

Our name says a lot about who we are and what is important to us. In the early 1990's, in anticipation of our move to a larger facility at a new location, we chose the name AGAPE FAMILY WORSHIP CENTRE.  This more accurately reflects the nature and character of our fellowship.

Agape:
Agape is the Greek word for love, the highest form of love; it is the love that God Himself demonstrates to and on behalf of His people. It is a sacrificial, pure love. Agape is what we are about, what we aspire to be - LOVE.

Family:
We believe that family is very important. We are the Agape Family and a part of the family of God. Family is important to God, as He is the author of families. We have a dedication and love for families and want to see them be successful and strong.

Worship:
Worship is a big part of being at Agape. From our founding till today we always seek to glorify God in everything that we do. We love to sing, dance and live for God. Everyone can experience the presence of God. We invite you to join us in this journey of a life dedicated to Him.

Centre:
Jesus is the centre. Agape is full of people who are dedicated to keeping Jesus at the centre of everything we do. We are people who do our best to live for God every day. We want Agape to be a safe place where everyone can come to experience and know Him. We may feel like we are in different places in our lives but we believe that because of what God did for us that no matter what our race, skin color or status there should be unconditional love.

Be a part and rejoice with us...

Join us every Sunday as we gather to worship together at 10:00 am
